HOLIBBS is a program that was originally written for WildCat! 3.x SysOps
to create a Bulletin/Hello screen to show how many days are left until
ANY Holiday. On a specific Holiday the screen will change to a nice
ansi screen denoting that particular holiday. It has now been adapted
to run with almost any BBS software (PCBoard/RA/SuperBBS/WWIV/WC!2.x/Etc.).
The cost for running a BBS is already high enough. No payment for this
program is expected or required. If you have the time or inclination,
a quick note saying how much you like this program would be appreciated.
If you don't like this program, you could drop me a note telling me why.
This version expires on the last day of 1996.
REQUIREMENTS
------------
DOS 3.x or better.
BRUN45 (Not included but available on most any BBS).
PC XT/AT or Compatible
SETUP
-----
HOLIBBS.EXE and HOLIBBS.CFG must reside in the same directory.
The sample .BBS files may be put anywhere you like. Run the
HBBSCFG.EXE file and answer the 3 questions. If you prefer you
may use your favorite text editor to edit the enclosed sample
HOLIBBS.CFG file. Line 1 of the config file will be the path
to the sample .ANS/ASC screens included in this package. Lines
2 and 3 will be the drive, path, and filename of the output files
you want to create (Usually NEWSx.ASC/ANS or HELLOx.BBS/SCR).
Add two lines to your nightly event batch file.
Example: CD\BBS\HOLIBBS <=== Where you placed HOLIBBS.EXE
HOLIBBS
That's all there is to it.
NOTE
----
The enclosed sample .ANS/.ASC files may be changed to suit your
particular BBS needs. However, the filenames must remain exactly
the same.
Vampire Technologies claims no rights to the enclosed sample ansi screens.
